Cielo’s Cross Racer
Thinking of adding one of these to the collection. I think my mind is made up but I’m curious to hear your thoughts:
— Green/Yellow or Silver/Orange
— Cantilevers or Disc

Cyclocross National Championship — Madison, Wisconsin
What a great weekend of hanging with friends, eating not-so-healthy food and oh, watching the national championship of cyclocross racing.
It was a cold weekend to no one’s surprise and with the wet and muddy conditions of Saturday’s race turning into the frozen, rutted tundra for Sunday’s, I had no desire to have any part of it — I was content with my brat and cheese curds.
Really nice looking pieces from Kitsbow — thinking about investing in the Sastan jersey (ultra navy) and the Soft Shell A/M shorts.
Best Cross Course Ever.
Hufnagal Cycles for Ace Hotel Portland. I’d stay at the Ace just for the opportunity to rent one of these bikes.
Finally got some time to get on the bike and get some solid miles in. Hopefully there will be more of this to come, at least through December.

It’s been 3 years since I had my first experience waking up to a spinning room but for some reason two Sundays ago it decided to come back. Long story short, I was diagonised with BPPV, a common type of vertigo that may come and go due to a.) head drama, b.) a infection reaking havoc in the inner ear or c.) unknown reasons – I’ve never had any major blows to the head so I assume it’s b.) or c.).
It’s been over two weeks now and most everything is back to normal — I’m starting to feel balanced on my feet and the headaches (migraine like) and pressure have subsided. Not only does BPPV trigger headaches, dizziness and nausea, it also brings in a lot of anxiety and stress with it.
During that first week of post vertigo every negative thought that could exist enters into the mind — how your cyclocross season is over, how you’ll never be able to plan a cycling trip or any trip for that matter again in fear it will come back or how everything I’ve been working towards is over — all which are extreme thoughts and not true in any sense.
But last night, I got back on the bike and started pedaling again. Life is filled with things like vertigo episodes and much worse, but it’s those things that remind you how important life is and how you have to take advantage of every one of it’s moments.

Spotted a nice size buck on the way out to Eden Prairie tonight, reminds me how much I love riding at night and in the cold.
